As We Last Left widget“I know full well the risks that I took. It was a matter of survival.” Mr. Gaelin retorts, yet notably evading the question to whom a pact was made. Tale of the Crosby expedition captures his full attention, his head nodding absently as his mind acknowledges the small similarities.
“Yes, you are quite right. It would be best to continue this conversation elsewhere. When you are reinstated as long as we are somewhere secure I’ll gladly tell you more. Perhaps I’ll have something of note to share for that repository of yours.” Mr. Gaelin grabs his cane and stands in preparation to leave.  “Considering the circumstance your looking far better than most would in your position. Anyhow, it is time to return to the matters at hand and do you worry I’ll make sure to keep on mister Mack in the mean time.”  In gentlemanly fashion Mr. Gaelin bows, taking Ms. Crosby’s hand and planting a soft kiss on it before making his way to the door. “Please accept this parting gift.” Waving his hand with flourish, Mr. Gaelin’s hawk swoops in from the hallway. A brilliant bouquet of flower drops from its talons and into Ms. Crosby’s arms. “Rest well…” Taking stride, he leaves Ms. Crosby to her recovery, pressing his way back to the office in order to assist with managing the recent chaos.
